Webster University Library is excited to announce that chat services will now be provided 24 hours a day! Having chat available 24 hours helps our library to better serve online and extended-campus students. Webster students live in many different time zones, and have hectic schedules that might require them to study at all hours. Webster University seeks to give the same library support to all students, despite differences in personal schedule or educational experience.
Library chat allows students to chat with a live librarian who is an expert in library resources and student research. Similar to instant messaging, you can start a conversation simply by clicking “Ask a Librarian” or typing your question into the chat box wherever you may see it on the library website. Through this tool, the librarian can advise you on choosing a topic, finding sources, and countless other problems that you might encounter.
Chat is often useful when you aren’t sure where to get started, when you are having trouble finding relevant sources, or when there are difficulties accessing a resource. We also offer help with citation and general questions about library services. But chat services are certainly not limited to these questions alone. Feel free to ask anything!
